摘要:本文是英语教学论文,本文旨在比较研究三个年级学生的写作错误,但非历时性研究。

p;stability  in  learner  errors  in  relation  to  learners’  language proficiency. Besides, the study also intends to explore the possible causes of the errors. Through these efforts, some implications for teaching and learning English writing are summed up to help improve both English majors’ writing ability and teachers’ teaching methods.  Error  analysis  plays  an  important  role  in  language  pedagogy  and  second  language acquisition.  Error  analysis  theory  is  valuable  not  only  for  teachers  and  learners  but  also  for textbook  compilers  and  researchers.  A  considerable  number  of  studies  on  errors  have  been conducted, but there are still some blanks waiting to be filled up. Some studies were just carried out  theoretically  without  empirical  elements  and  some  studies  were  based  on  the  authors’ personal feelings or experiences rather than date collection and data analysis. Also too much attention of error analysis in previous studies has been paid to errors in writings by high school students, non-English majors, and advanced English majors. There were few studies focusing on  errors  in  English  writings  of  English  majors,  especially  of  majors  of  English  in  normal universities. Besides, quantities of previous studies only focused on one specific type of errors while there were few studies analyzing the errors of all types that appeared in the writings. To sum up, with so many limitations of previous studies listed here, it can be seen that the present study is of great necessity and value to be carried out. Also analyzing writing errors of English majors will be of great help to both teachers and students. For teachers, it helps them to know in which aspects students tend to make mistakes, which can be used by teachers to instruct the students better. Teachers can also notice the defects in their teaching process through analyzing students’ writing errors so that they can adjust their teaching methods and plans on time. For students, it makes them realize their own weakness in English writing and then students can practice more to get closer to the standards of target language by correcting errors constantly. If students can understand errors correctly and treat them properly, they will be confident about learning English and do not be afraid of making errors in writings.

Chapter Two Literature Review

This chapter has five parts. The first four parts are related theories including error, error analysis,  ELK  &  ILK  and  interlanguage.  The  last  part  reviews  the  previous  relevant  studies both abroad and at home.  

2.1   Error 

As for errors, different schools hold quite different points of view on errors which occur in language learning. Behaviorism thinks errors as “disaster” and evidence of failure.
