Executive Summary
European Union has created a new currency for the members EU. Using the same currency in different European countries will help when people or companies use money, like with trading, investing, and traveling. When companies sell things to other countries, it's called trading. In the thirteen countries (Slovenia joined on 1st January) that are using the euro, they won't need to figure out how much something they want to trade is worth in francs, Deutsche marks or schilling because it's worth the same in euros. Tourists won't have to change money whenever they go cross into another country anymore so traveling is easier. Before the birth of euro, people had to change their money when they traveled to countries in Europe. That would be like if someone went from Illinois to Kentucky, they would need to change money and that would take a lot of time, and cash machines in the United States would need to have money for fifty different states.
