In the multi-media classroom, you can surf the website providing the online radio news. At first, live news can be presented to the students, mean while, the materials can be recorded by recording software, such as Total Record, Cool Edit.
However, the online listening is very complex and challenging, it can be an ideal teaching mode for senior students of English major to further improve their listening.
3.5 Operations of the listening materials
How does the teachers utilize the materials for the main lecture effectively? According to the principles of teaching and learning listening, “Listening comprehension lessons should be constructed with careful step–by–step planning. This implies that listening tasks progress from simple to more complex as students gain in language proficiency; that students know exactly what the task is and are given directions as to what to listen for, where to listen, when to listen and how to listen.” [14]
