Qualitative Research Methods
Briefly speaking, qualitative research is focused on the explanation of the question instead of quantification, or it could be analyzed with mathematic modelling. Moreover, qualitative research involves gain the acute insights into questions by exploration, understanding of event, analysis of humans’ behaviour and perceptions and answering quizzes. Actually, almost in all the working and studying environment, people will involve qualitative research everyday. Through the analysis of unordered questions, exploring the “why” questions instead of “how” question, which include record transcript and recording, e-mails and videos. Shank (2002) makes a definition of research as “a form of systematic empirical inquiry into meaning”. Lincoln and Denzin (2000) define the qualitative research to be involved with naturalist and interpretive research. From my, perspective, qualitative research draws attention on the natural qualities, https://www.51lunwen.org/ukthesis/2011/0117/0904276720.html and tries to make the phenomena clear to people. Although the social experience in important and context, processes are very important, qualitative is not all the time distinguishable or opposite to quantitative research. According to the emotionalism, it is involved with personal meanings, the interpretations of events and authentic insights and open-ended interviews.
According to Northrop in 1959, he defined the science to be “science does not begin with facts or hypotheses but with a specific problem”. To begin with the research, people should firstly come up with the question, “what I am looking for?” and then we should form a perspective which means to interrogate the phenomena and lead to the inquiry.
In order to organize the qualitative research, people usually adapt the in-depth interview, which is a kind of direct and unstructured, one-to-one form of research. In the process of doing the research, the researcher should master good taking skills to reveal the potential motive, attitude and emotion of a certain problem. The biggest advantage of in-depth interview is the acquirement of the https://www.51lunwen.org/Accounting/ understanding of a question, and comprehensive information of the question. However, the disadvantage of the qualitative research is the unstructured characteristic, and the success is largely depended on the researcher’s experience and skills.
