Should there be armed protective services officers on Melbourne train stations after dark?

Just take a look at the news ,April 20th, 2011, one Chinese man was stabbed to death at Melbourne train station ,and a day after which ,before finding the murderer ,there came out that one corpse of an Asian woman was found at one parking lot of Melbourne. After that Some one put forward the proposal that there should be armed protective services officers on Melbourne train stations after dark .
As one of the Chinese student who are study in Melbourne, I am all for the proposal. Being terrified by the accidents, during those days, when I go to sleep ,sometimes ,there would be nightmares .And after that I just dare not to go outside alone after dark ,let alone the train stations .Following are some reasons for which I support the proposal .
First , armed protective services officers can help to calm down the citizens in Melbourne .In Melbourne ,unlike in other cities ,people do not used to stay outside after dark ,and it is kind of dangerous for one to walk alone after dark , especially for the younger and the woman ,even if there haven’t  been  the accident ,people still felling afraid. Traveling by train is one of the most common way of going here and there ,and one must go to the train station to take train .So if there will be armed protective officers , which is to say maintaining a climate of safety and a shield of protection ,people will feel more safety and be relieved to a certain degree.
Second , armed protective services officers can help to reduce crime .Train stations which are designed to be convenient and accessible to the largest possible number of people, are among the most attractive and most vulnerable terrorist targets. Terrorist attacks on transportation are more common and more lethal than those against any other class of target. With armed services officers on guard ,most of the people who want to crime crimes ,have to be carefully keep away from the officers to prevent being caught, so it will greatly reduce the scope of the crime. What’s more ,as we all know ,there are lot of alcoholics in Australia, even though you don’t want to ask for trouble ,they may come to you .Officers can also help to terminate those clashes which may develop into a crime . And this may threaten the mischievous teen-agers and prevent them from playing tricks to some extent.
The last, armed protective services officers can help to reduce losses .Even though an incident take place, after a very short time evaluate , they can mobilize passengers and transit operators to take effective measures to reducing loss to a minimum .If there were officers on guard on the day that the Chinese was stabbed ,maybe they would quickly call the ambulance and take some hemostatic measures  in time ,which may have saved the life of the man .
