Chapter One Introduction


1.1 Research Background
当前中国英语教学条件上的一项研究表明,正常学生的英语专业学习的内容被简化,从而导致低质量的,他们经过4年的研究。他们主要集中在基本的语言知识和技能培训,因此,他们是缺乏由于缺乏教育学,教育心理学和其他相关理论和技能的研究能力。(崔晓明,2002)。杨旭颖(2010)指出,全日制英语Ed.M度刚刚成立,并没有当前的人才培养模式可以遵循。大多数的培养计划复制相应的学历,忽视专业学位的位置和实践性要求的人才培养模式。因此,课程设计Ed.M远离Ed.M全职学生专业发展的要求分开在高中英语教学中的现实。因此,它是很难,全日制英语Ed.M学生建立自己的专业身份目前,更不用说它们自己的售前售后服务的专业发展。One research on current condition of Chinese English teaching reveals that thecontent which normal students of English major learn is simplified , which results thelower quality of them after the 4-year study . They mainly focused on basic linguisticknowledge and skill training; therefore , they are lack of the research ability due to theabsence of pedagogical, pedagogical psychology and other relevant theories and skills.(崔晓明,2002).杨旭颖(2010) pointed out that the full-time English Ed.M degreehas just been established and no current cultivating mode can be followed . Most ofthe cultivating plan copies the cultivating mode of correspondent academicdegree ,which neglects the location of professional degree and the requirements forpracticalness. Thus, the curriculum design for Ed.M are far from the reality of Englishteaching in high schools and separate from the requirements for professionaldevelopment of full-time Ed.M students. As a consequence , it is difficult for full-timeEnglish Ed.M students to establish their professional identity currently , let alone theirown pre-service professional development.


1.1.2 The importance of training EFL teachers with research abilities
(刘润清,2003) maintains that if the EFL teachers participate in some researchactivities , the research will promote the teaching in return. It can assist the teachers toverify the linguistic and pedagogical theory and methods. As a result , the teachersmay create individual teaching mode or reflect on the teaching problems so that theywill maintain the interests in teaching instead of feeling as teach-book-smith .


1.2 Significance of the Study
The full time Ed.M professional degree has been established recently in China, sothere is no mature cultivating plan for the Ed.M. Therefore, the Ed.M students may beconfused about how to learn and how to develop as a teacher .It is essential toinvestigate how the Ed.M students understand themselves ,which can assist them tochange from student to the teacher promptly.As mentioned above , the Ed.M mentors and Education managers may beconfused as well due to the innovation of professional degree. Therefore , the researchmay help them understand the students' need and establish appropriate cultivatingplan.


Chapter Two Literature Review


2,1   Self Identity
As a main concept of western philosophy and logics , "identity" can be tracedback to ancient Greece. Ancient Greek discussed the philosophical problem with it.When the word is introduced into modem social sciences, it becomes a complexconcept ,which has been introduced into many academic fields ,such as phycology,pedagogy and politics. The earlier researchers regard it as the stable and unitaryquality without the influence of external environment while modem academiciansregard it as a dynamic process in which person interacts with a world .


2.1.1 Classical identity theory
