摘要:本文是一篇英语教学论文题目,本研究试图回答以下三个研究问题:1)初中生所感知的教师支持和他们英语学习投入情况如何?2)感知教师支持水平不同的初中生在英语学习投入上是否存在差异?如果存在,差异如何?3)初中生英语学习投入是否在感知的教师支持与英语成绩之间起中介作用?

本文是一篇英语教学论文题目,本研究以广东省广州市某中学的424名初中生作为研究对象,采用定性和定量相结合的研究方法(问卷调查和半结构访谈),并使用Schaufeli的学习投入问卷及欧阳丹的感知教师支持问卷进行调查学生感知教师支持与学习投入的水平。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

Since the 1970s and 1980s,Education has received increasing attention as part of the softpower of nations.Improving the quality of education has therefore become a topic of keeninterest in countries around the world.To fundamentally improve the quality of education,students must be fully motivated and involved in their learning.Education should fullystimulate students'own initiative and make them the masters of their own learning.It is alsobecause academic performance is an important indicator for evaluating students'learning overa period of time,as well as an indicator for monitoring the effectiveness of education andteaching in schools.Therefore,the investigation of the factors influencing students'academicperformance and their mechanisms of action can provide a theoretical basis for improvingstudents'academic performance.Among the many factors that influence students'academicperformance,teachers are one of the more important ones.This has been agreed upon by thecommunity.However,this does not mean that all teachers'perceptions and behaviours canhave an impact on students'academic performance.It is the perceptions and behaviours ofteachers that have an impact on student achievement and are closely related to studentlearning and life.

Teachers at junior middle schools serve as the'guiding lights'for their students throughinteracting with them in daily teaching.Students'self-confidence,character,values,behaviorand attitudes will be subtly affected by teachers.Teachers'support behavior is an importantsource of motivating students to study hard.It also plays a positive and lasting role inpromoting students'academic development.Moreover,when teachers provide appropriatesupport and encouragement to students,students'learning problems and adverse behaviorswill be reduced.These students also show more effort and confidence in their studies.

1.2 Significance of the Study

Learner engagement means that learners invest their time,energy and resources intolearning.It emphasizes that learners are fully engaged and show a positive attitude towardslearning.There are many factors that influence students'learning engagement.The maininfluencing factor comes from teachers.This is because teachers'support for students in allaspects will affect students'learning input,and this influence is positive and beneficial.Ifstudents feel that their teacher supports them,they will devote more energy to their studies.Therefore,teachers'support can effectively improve students'learning engagement.
