Introduction

The article is about to introduce the background of a book named Par-time Crime: An Ethnography of Fiddling and Pilferage written by Jason Ditton. For writing that book, Ditton went into the sale department of a company, fictitiously named as The Well bread Bakery, who uses part-timers to delivery its products and to receive the money. The purpose of the behavior of Ditton going into such company is to analyze the issues arise out of fiddling and pilferage of part-timers in the management of corporations. However, the details of part-time crime are not the point for this paper to analyze. The aim of this paper is to discuss and evaluate the methodologies used in that paper as well as the effectiveness. Therefore, this paper will firstly review the accounting methodologies that are about to be used in the paper of Ditton’s, in which it will briefly introduce the contents of the paper of Ditton’s . After that, this paper will then discuss the functions of each methodology that used in Ditton’s paper. At last of this paper, it will discuss the advantages and weaknesses of the methodologies, with relevant to the usage of the methodologies in different kind of academic paper.
