摘要:Singaporeis a remarkable phenomenon in Asia Pacific. Since 1965, Singapore separated from Malaysia as a nation. It has a multi-racial society with 4.35 million populations living on an island of 700 square kilometers (Peebles and Wilson, 2002).

s, Singapore economy development also need to position a more global, and diversified economy. The Singaporean economy is planned toward developing new service industry while continuing to improve manufacturing and previous industries. It is clear that the world service industry becomes more and more important in national economic growth. Many new growth sectors including biomedical sciences, info-communications, global tourism service and integrated resorts were developed. Need to mention, the tourism industry today has brought large economic income to Singapore with 57% of GDP according to EDB report (Facts and Figures, 2007 www.51lunwen.org/Economy/ ). At the same time, the education system is proposed in a high position in Singapore and gain global expansion. These training and education institutions are seeking foreign students in worldwide to enlarge the talent workforce. They are also keeping high quality and excellence education at all specials. For example, in 2005 ITE has been the world first-class in the world as a global leader in technical training and education (Law, 2006).

Lessons from Singapore experience 新加坡的经验

Based on the analysis of case study, Singapore experienced its turbulence and uncertainty of economy, society, policy after its independence. Politically, the nation separated from Malaysia since 1965 and was instability and turbulent. Socially, the country is poor of natural resource and undeveloped technologies with high unemployment rate. Economically, it belonged to one third world country. Above all, so many facts demonstrated that this new emerging nation could survive. But indeed, Singapore today eventually and successfully becomes one of first world country as a developed country in the world. Therefore, as a miracle, many social scientists paid more attentions to analyze its success as the economic development outcomes. Following has reflected on some main development experiences from the Singapore economy.
Firstly, economic strategies are tightly based on the current condition of nation (Chiang, 1998). It is the fact that Singaporean government adopted different economic strategies in different development stages. And more importantly, the strategies are changing and improving according to the domestic and foreign economic environment.
Secondly, educational system plays significant role in the economic development of Singapore. Training and Education system has offered skilled and talented people for the Singaporean economic development. The courses are designed on the skills competencies ad standards. Moreover, in different stages the education institutions could modify their objectives of training. Then the people could fulfill the demands of economy. For example, the ITE described their educational goal as ITE 2000 Plan (1995-1999), ITE Breakthrough (2000-2004) and ITE Advantage (2005-2009) (Seng, 2007).
Thirdly, focusing on the leverage between the industry and education. The Singaporean education system largely emphasizes on the practical experience of students and vocational training. Then it could provide more and more skilled manpower to industries. According to Economic Development Board, the educational technical system is exactly the strategic tool to attract the foreign direct investment in Singapore.
