摘要:The classroom is often the most important place for the learners to receive and use target language.Teacher Talk which can serve as very useful models and meaningful input, as well as tools for organizingthe class, plays an important role in English classroom.
Chapter Five Data Analysis and Discussion
5.1 The Analysis of Teacher Talk
In this research, each period of English class lasts for 45 minutes. This section mainly talks about theamount of Teacher Talk. Through the classroom observation, the author learns that Teacher Talk is mainlyused to explain the grammar and the meaning of text, provide questions and feedback. And Students Talk islargely used to make responses to teachers and communicate with their partners. The data in Table 5.1 shows that the teacher talk possesses most of the class time and it still dominatesthe English classroom. The result is the same with that of Chaudron(1988).In Table 5.1, the amount of Teacher 1 Talk possesses 73% of the whole class time, while Students Talktakes 7 minutes, 16% of the class time. Teacher 2 Talk costs 30 minutes, 67% of the class time, learners talktakes up 6 minutes, 13% of class time. Teacher 3 Talk lasts 26 minutes which is 58% of class time. Herstudents make discourse for 14 minutes, 31% of class time. As for teacher 4, she takes 28 minutes on herteaching talk, possessing 58% of class time. Students Talk is about 13 minutes, about 29% of class time.Teacher 5 Talk takes 31% minutes which possesses 69% of class time; her students carry out discourse for8 minutes, 18% of class time.In the questionnaire, the data from the Item 1 also matches this conclusion. In Item 1, 55% of studentsthink that their Teachers Talk lasts more than 25 minutes, less than 30 minutes.

Conclusion
The classroom is often the most important place for the learners to receive and use target language.Teacher Talk which can serve as very useful models and meaningful input, as well as tools for organizingthe class, plays an important role in English classroom.In the thesis, the researcher makes an attempt to describe the current situation of Teacher talk in JuniorHigh School. In Junior High School, students' English level is not very high, many of them have difficultiesin understanding the total English instructions. By conducting the classroom observation, recording,questionnaire and interview, the author obtains some major findings.
