Abstract
The 21st century is an information age which symbolizes the humanity stride in the epoch. The most remarkable characteristic of this age is the rapid development and popularity of the network. Internet is affecting and changing people’s study and work method at an unprecedented speed. Accompany with the development of information technology, internet is now playing a more significant role in teaching and learning processes. Traditional secondary school English teaching course does not provide a non-obstruction classroom communication environment to the students. Students’ elaborative faculty has not been well developed, and internet in secondary school has not been fully used. This paper focuses on the usage of internet as an educational instrument which guides English teaching and learning in secondary schools. The paper also discusses the advantages and limitations of this new method as well as the value of the method.
