摘要:在改革的过程中,英语已经成为一个强大的沟通工具和开放的中国。人与人之间的日益普及,中国进入世界贸易组织以来,已经获得了英语学习。
Conclusion
The study shows that students, who have different perceptual learning stylepreferences, vary in their choices of reading strategies. Perceptual learning stylesinteract with the reading strategies. It is very important for teachers to incorporateperceptual learning style preferences and the reading strategy training in their classes.After understanding students' style preferences and their dominant reading strategies,teachers can effectively train the use of the strategies and strengthen the practice ofsome seldom used strategies, according to different learning styles of students. Teachersshould familiarize students with not only the characteristics of their own learning stylesand their dominant strategies, but also the characteristics of other styles and otherstrategies. Based on this, students can be guided to search for much more effectivereading strategies which are compatible with their own learning styles. For example, anindividual style student might be encouraged to interact with others to solve readingproblems. Teachers should make students know that their styles are not fixed; instead,they can be transformed or expanded by different choices of strategies; moreover, somespecific strategies will not work best at all times. Students should be encouraged todevelop alternative styles and strategies, and take alternative strategies in variouscontexts, in order to fulfill different reading tasks in a much more flexible way.
This study has only examined the effect of perceptual learning styles onstudents’ choices of reading strategies. In addition, many other factors may also affectthe choices of reading strategies, such as internal factors including age, gender,intelligence, personality and cognitive style; external factors involving teachingmethods, teaching materials, learning environment and cultural differences. In the futureresearches, more factors should be considered.
