摘要:在改革的过程中,英语已经成为一个强大的沟通工具和开放的中国。人与人之间的日益普及,中国进入世界贸易组织以来,已经获得了英语学习。

Chapter 1 Introduction


1.1 Research Background
作为一个独立的和不可缺少的组成部分,语言学习,阅读理解是一个复杂的认知和情绪活动的学习者主动自觉地思考,理解和接收信息,根据多策略,以满足不同的阅读任务。阅读起着至关重要的作用,在语言学习者提供可理解的输入。许多语言学习者想成为探路者能够在目标语言的文本,无论是自己的职业生涯,研究目的,或只是为了乐趣。此外,阅读学习者的交际活动中起着重要的作用,因为良好的阅读可以引入有趣的话题,激发讨论,激发想象力的反应,有利于建立和谐的人际关系与对方。然而,许多在我国高职院校的学生认为难以对付的占相当大的比重白魔芋外各类英语考试,使这些学生成为越来越多的担心不同的英语考试的英语阅读理解。更糟的是,他们渐渐不喜欢做阅读理解练习,甚至在英语学习失去兴趣。他们的有限的阅读实践降低他们的阅读输入和知识TOA很大程度上阻碍了吸收。另一方面,传统的以教师为中心的班对学生的影响很大。他们变得习惯于依靠教师的说明操作,教科书,但是忽略自己的学习偏好,不知道如何利用策略,在学习的过程中。现在教师更注重学生在课堂上的反应,并考虑所有的变量,影响学生的学习,其中学习风格和学习策略已经获得了在第二语言习得的日益普及。因此,它是必要的,教师应了解学生的学习风格,并据此选择相应的说明来教导阅读策略,帮助学生确定自己的学习风格,并做出正确的选择和使用的阅读策略。As a separate and indispensable component of language learning, readingcomprehension is a complex cognitive and emotional activity in which learners activelyand consciously think, understand and receive information, depending on multiplestrategies to fulfill various reading tasks. Reading plays a vital role in providinglanguage learners with comprehensible input. Many language learners want to be able toread texts in the target language either for their careers, for study purposes or simply forpleasure. Moreover, reading plays an important role in learners' communicativeactivities, since good reading can introduce interesting topics, stimulate discussions,excite imaginative responses and help establish a harmonious interpersonal relationshipwith each other.However, many students in vocational colleges in our country think it difficult todeal with English reading comprehension which accounts for a large proportion ofdifferent kinds of English exams,so these students become more and more worriedabout different English exams. What is worse, they gradually dislike doing readingcomprehension practice, and even lose their interest in English learning. Their limitedreading practice reduces their reading input and hinders the absorption of knowledge toa great extent. On the other hand, traditional teacher-centered classes have made a greatimpact on the students. They become accustomed to relying on teachers’ instructionsand textbooks, but ignore their own learning preferences and do not know how to makeuse of strategies in the process of learning. Nowadays teachers pay more attention tostudents' reactions in classes and consider all the variables affecting students' learning,among which learning styles and learning strategies have gained increasing popularityin the second language acquisition. Therefore, it is necessary that teachers should knowthe learning styles of students and accordingly choose appropriate instructions to teachreading strategies, help students to identify their learning styles and to make goodchoices and use of the reading strategies.
This study aims to investigate the characteristics of the learning styles and readingstrategies of vocational college students, and to explore the correlation between their learning styles and reading strategies.Reid (2002) defines learning styles as an individual's natural, habitual, andpreferred ways of absorbing, processing, and retaining new information and skills.Kinsella (1994) emphasizes that everyone has a learning style, but each person's is asunique as a signature.
