Respondent: Some countries’ business started before our overseas office was set up, for example Hong Kong, Dubai and London. On the one hand, some of our customers who used to cooperate with us in their Chinese mainland’s project become our overseas customers. On the other hand, the overseas office still tries to exploit local market. And in this industry, your reputation is very important. Your professional competence help you win customers. But the service can help you maintain a long-term relationship with customers. The relationship with your customer is also important for our growth. Many of our business in china are due to customer recommendation.
Interviewer: Then you still thing this strategy can be useful in foreign market?
Respondent: Yes, but the professional competence is the base the growth.
Interviewer: what’s your entry mode to these overseas markets?
Respondent: Most of them are wholly owned subsidiaries except Singapore’s office. The headquarter of Crystal CG has highly control with the subsidies in Hong Kong, Dubai, and Tokyo. The office in Singapore has more self-manage rights.
Interviewer: there is 100% investment to set up the office in the foreign countries expect the office in Singapore?
Respondent: Yes.
Interviewer: You just talked about why you set up office in Singapore and Hong Kong. Could you tell me what’s factors influence the establishment overseas office in other countries?
Respondent: Dubai is one of the hottest construction places in the world even if they put on hold some projects due to economic recession in this year. So the architecture visualization is the main business in there. In contrast with Dubai, Tokyo is more likely to a strategic choice. The digital entertainment is the main business in Tokyo’s office.
Interviewer: Have you got to know some foreign customers and attract them to choose your firm even when they back their county?
Respondent: Not exactly, the local new customer is larger proportion.

Interviewer: Did you or other personnel in the firm have prior international business experience?
Respondent: yes, last year, we recruited some new staff who have had overseas experience including professional technicians and management staff.
Interviewer: OK. Did their international working experience help your company’s international expansion?
Respondent: yes.
Interviewer: Why is your firm successful in international market?
Respondent: Firstly, we have some advantages on technology. And we have excellent employees who help the firm achieve today’s success. Secondly, we have focused on architecture visualization business for 14years. And the new business expanded from the core technique – visualization. From the beginning, we provide architecture visualization service for architect and their customers. Now we provide visualization service in some other field such as city planning, documentary film, and even other type of film. These are the base of our success in domestic market. Next step, we will take use of more comparative advantages in the international market.
Interviewer: what are the comparative advantages you have?
Respondent: excellent technicians and experience. Also the price is another advantage we have compared to our foreign counterparts.
Interviewer: Why is your firm successful in international market?
