Mary Shelley(August 1797-February 1851)was a famous English novelist,creditedwith writing the first science fiction novel in literature,Frankenstein,in 1818,and is knownas the mother of science fiction.Mary Shelley,originally Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin,wasborn in August 1797 in Sams Town,near London,England.Her mother,Mary Wollstonecraft,was a well-known feminist and the author of A Defence of Women’s Rights(1792).The fatherwas an anarchist philosopher and the author of Political Justice(1793).Influenced by thepolitical background of her father and mother,Mary Shelley’s thoughts are also very rich,butthe most eye-catching are her ecological thoughts,which are mainly about human and nature,human and society,and human and self-ecological thoughts.
