It has already developedinto a very systematical branch of linguistics in recent decades，holding its ownprocedures and means to analyze language phenomena. Construction Grammar has avery strong influence in the international linguistic field and provides a tool of strongexplanatory power for unaccounted linguistic phenomena. Double object constructions(DOC) is one of the most important and popular constructions in ConstructionGrammar. Although the double object constructions had already been studied by someprofessors from the perspective of qualitative analysis, there is still much space whichhas not been explored, such as quantitative analysis of double object constructions. Thispaper tries to fill up the gaps of this field. Four points will beshown in this chapter: (1) the background of the study; (2) the aims of the study ；( 3) thesignificance of the study ；( 4) the layout of the study.

1.1 The Background of the Study研究背景
Since so many schools of linguists have paid so much attention to double objectconstructions, it becomes a very heated topic in this field. It has already been studiedfrom different aspects such as pragmatics，syntax and semantics(Zhang，2006; Xu，2001; Xiong，2007; He，2003).Besides，some scholars are devoted to comparing thedifferences of double object constructions in English and Chinese(Zhang, 2010; Huang,2010).However, those kinds of approaches fai】 to account for the foil range of data.Luckily enough, Construction Grammar has emerged, making great contributions inaccounting linguistic phenomena. It avoids the implausible verb senses and circularityof analysis. It suggests that systematic differences in meaning between the same verbsin different constructions are attributed directly to particular construction (Goldberg，1995; 4).Construction Grammar has great advantages, for example, researchers don't needto set a specific sense of a word which is unique to a certain construction, in fact，whatwe need to do is to postulate a construction that is itself associate with meaning.Up to now, there has been a lot of analysis on double object constructions. WithConstruction Grammar as their solid theoretical foundation, however，very few studieshave been conducted from perspective of quantitative analysis, so we need to get veryprecise analysis of double object constructions, especially we need to know whichcollexemes are particularly attracted by double object constructions, furtherinvestigation and explanation are still needed.

1.2 The Aims of the Study研究目标
Based on the Construction Grammar and some cognitive linguistic theories，thispaper aims at studying double object constructions from the perspective ofcollostructional analysis, which tries to fill up the gaps of the field.
