ohesion and coherence frameworks. I have also questioned the relationship between reader, writer and text and propose that more evidence needs to be forthcoming to test the lexical triggering and signalling that different readers experience as they process texts. This might be particularly revealing in the case of ESL learners. In doing and prior to this I propose that the soundest point of departure would be to begin with an examination of the relationship between writer, text and his/her poetic processes before the reader makes a text a communicative act. Further to this I have shown some of the possible problems which a writer may face in his/her choices pointing to examples of grammatical constrains in the data here.

Appendix 1.

Title/Heading Where is everybody?
Sub-heading Addresses should be simple. But they are a costly muddle

Para 1. Line 1. HOW many people are we dealing with, and where do they live? That should be a simple
 2. question in government or business. But in Britain, it's oddly hard to answer because of
 3. the lack of a single, reliable list of addresses for people, firms and buildings.

2. 4. The mess is www.51lunwen.org confusing and costly. Estimates of how many people live in a particular area
 5. can vary by up to 10%, depending which central or local government data are being
 6. used. The census in 2001 wildly miscalculated the number of people living in
 7. Westminster, in central London, because the central address register being used didn't
 8. match the local one (see chart). That skews all sorts of government grants and
 9. payments.

3. 10. It also means that local councils may be failing to collect taxes properly. “I was looking
 11. for office accommodation in central London and was told ‘these offices are very good
 12. because they haven't been valued for council tax’,” recalls John Thornton. He was most
 13. interested: he heads a government body trying to improve efficiency in local
 14. government. Tony Vickers, a geographer, estimates that £1 billion in local taxes may be
 15. uncollected because of bad address data. The average local council wastes the
 16. equivalent of 15 employees' time matching different address lists, reckons Mr Thornton.

 4. 17. British addresses are a hodge-podge: some bits, like the name of a house, are chosen
 18. by the owner, and can change suddenly: renaming your house is easy. The street name,
 19. if there is one, is chosen by the local council. The Royal Mail picks the name of the town,
 20. for post-sorting convenience rather than logic or geography. Buildings that receive no
 21. mail have no address, although they may be taxable, catch fire, or need some other
 22. outside attention. The human side is complicated by shifting populations, especially in
 23. inner-city areas, where many dwellings may share one letter-box.

5. 24. The answer is a single, comprehensive, up-to-date list. With government encouragement,
 25. local authorities have been working hard on compiling Local Land and Property
 26. Gazetteers (LLPGs). That is brin论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
