      However despite the Firstly, this thesis  is not discourse analysis. It also findings, strictly there are still some limitations in this thesis. following  Fairclouah's framework of critical uses theories like the rhetorical devices analysis when processing the screenplay of Bowlingfor Columbine. Secondly, because of the limited length of this thesis, only one film is chosen as its target text, which is obviously not adequate and persuasive enough. Thirdly, this study is not detailed and systematic enough for some parts of the study can go further than it does now. Here are some suggestions for further study of American gun culture.
      (I) While introducing the present situation of gun stock in the US, compares to other major gun-loving countries can be made. For example, Canada and Australia are all gun-loving countries, so the situation in these countries can be introduced and compared to that in America, thus the readers can get a more concrete and persuasive understanding.
      (2) If possible, take more films or other types of materials as an illustration. This thesis only takes one film as its target text, and it"s far from enough. Materials should be as diverse as possible. It will be much better for the further researchers to do this study based on different kinds of materials, such as articles from newspapers. books written by military experts or other films directed by different people.
