Conclusion


The current study aims to explore the answers to two research questions. When itapproaches to the end of the study, the author comes to the following conclusions.First, the main factors affecting the college students’ autonomous languagelearning are the students’ motivation and attitude, teachers’ role and learningstrategies.Second, three ways are identified to cultivate the college students’ autonomouslanguage learning, namely:  Teachers should change their beliefs, create some opportunities ofautonomous learning for the students, take the form of the formativeevaluation, and pay attention to training the students’ learning strategies inand out of class.  College students need a correct attitude. They should improve, evaluate andreflect their learning in the form of diaries, tests, competitions and so on. Themost important thing to improve the students’ autonomous learning ispersistence.  Extracurricular activities are effective and natural path to improve thestudents’ autonomous learning. Students should use resources of libraries andthe network to create a harmonious learning environment and improve theirskills autonomously.
The aim of this study is to find the crucial factors affecting the college students’autonomous learning ability and try to find some effective ways to improve thestudents’ autonomous learning ability. In order to add strength to the research findings,data analysis involving both the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysiswas applied. Meanwhile the author adopted different instruments including interview,questionnaire, weekly diaries and classroom observation. But due to the author’suneven knowledge, time and space limitations, there are some limitations in this study.First the major concern of this study is to analyze the learner themselves.Language learning is idiosyncratic.
