Before setting out to the translation of this book, the translator has read throughthe whole book to get the main idea of it and payed close attention to Chapters 15, 17and 18. After finishing the reading, the translator has found that many world-changingevents mentioned in the ST are too complicated to understand. Worse still, there aremany strange proper nouns of wars and medicine, and quantities of long and complexsentences. Realizing that it would be a challenging task to solve problems mentionedabove, the translator has strove to make full use of online and offline resources, suchas useful websites and dictionaries, which can be listed as follows:

2.2 While-translating

After making full preparations for the translation practice, the translator hasbegan to make a closer reading to the ST which is different from the reading in thepre-translation phase that mainly focuses on the contents. According to the plan, thetranslation practice started in October, 2019 and 1,000 words needed to be translated every day. The translator persisted in carrying out her plan but was inevitablyinterrupted by other emergent things. The first draft of the translation was finished inDecember 15th, 2019. The while-translating phase mainly includes the management ofproper nouns and technical terms which are ubiquitous in the ST, and solvingtranslation difficulties to create an ideal translation.

In the ST, proper nouns of organizations, places and wars as well as medicalterms are common. In translating, the translator has kept collecting them and makingthem into a glossary list. To ensure the accuracy of these terms and proper nouns, thetranslator has asked her supervisor and classmates for help and searched availableonline resources.
