摘要:在中国英语专业学生名词短语使用存在线性和非线性增长模式,即模块式发展模式,该结果进一步研究了我国英语专业学生英语写作中名词短语的使用情况。教师要强化学生语言训练,增加输入和输出的质量。

do exist in previous studies, which would be solved in the presentstudy. First, there is absence of studies discussing how learners use the English noun phrasesin written production in longitudinal perspective since previous studies mainly focused onlearner's use of noun phrases in the oral production. The famous scholars like Wen Qiufangand Ma Dongmei's concerning is about the tendencies of the learners' use of vocabularies orphrases in oral production, while the features of using noun phrases by English learners inthe writing production somewhat left uncharted. Thus,the present study is to explore thefeatures of using noun phrases in writing production to test whether the modular tendency inalso happening in learners' writing production. In the other words,https://www.51lunwen.org/wordings/ it tries to reveal whetherthe tendencies of using of noun phrases in the oral production are similar to writingproduction or not. What's more, the gap between the native writers and students' using ofnoun phrases in writing is also one of the research questions in the present study.


  
  1.2 Objectives and research questions研究目标
  Quirk (1985) had divided noun phrases into four classification including (Determiner)Noun, (Determiner) Premodification Noun, (Determiner) Noun P o stmodi fi cation,(Determiner) Premodification Noun Postmodification. At the same time, three dimensions likenoun phrase complexity, variation and accuracy are used as the parameters to measurestudents' ability to use noun phrases in writing production (Ma Dongmei, 2008; 18). In thispaper, taking the four types of noun phrases and Ma's adaptation of measurement of nounphrase complexity, variation and accuracy as the framework and related studies oncharacteristic of Chinese English major's English writing as the theoretical foundations, itpoints out the tendencies of using of noun phrases in Chinese English major's writings, testingwhether learners' using of noun phrases in writing production follow the modular andmultidimensional perspective in second language acquisition, providing the propersuggestions for writing teaching. Three research questions are proposed as the follows:1. Noun phrase complexity(1) Compared with the English native speakers, to what extent do the Chinese English majorsdemonstrate differences relating noun phrase complexity and four types of noun phrases.(2) What changes can be spotted across four years relating use of noun phrase complexityand four types of noun phrases? If there are, what is the tendency like?2. Noun phrase variation(1) Compared with the English native speakers, to what extent do the Chinese English majorsdemonstrate differences relating noun phrase variation in using of noun phrases(2) What change can be spotted across four years relating use of noun phrase variation? Ifthere are, what is the tendency like?3. Noun phrase accuracy(1) What change can be spotted across four years relating use of noun phrase accuracy andfour types of noun phrases? If there are, what is the tendency like?

  A wide range of cross-sectional studies play predominate role while longitudinal studiesare not as adequate as cross-sectional studies in second language research(Wen Qiufang,2004;Ma Dongmei, 2008; Heng Renquan, 2009).
