1. Change Strategy Overview 1.1 Culture Defined To start with, it is necessary to define culture as is the case with every inter-cultural study. The term culture has numerous definitions. According to Ting-Toomey (2003), culture is "a system of knowledge, meanings, and symbolic actions that is shared by the majority of the people in a society". From here, we see that culture influences the way how people think and behave. As members of a society, individuals exemplify to some extent, some collective features of certain group of people. It becomes more observable when individuals from different cultures communicate with each other.
