The exchange rate regime and a balance of payments crisis

Introduction
The balance of payments crises is a long-term consequences caused by domestic economic problems. More seriously, the outbreak of it will further deteriorate domestic economic problems and brings great damage to both countries' economic growth and people's life.
In this essay, the main idea is to give an introduction of payments crises, talk about the interrelationship between the exchange rate regime and viability of the alternative approaches to resolving a balance of payments crisis. The purpose is to give a dialectical view on exchange rate regime, payments crisis and the evolution of international monetary system support mechanisms.

Conclusion
The balance of payments crises is a long-term consequences caused by domestic economic problems. As the price of a currency in the foreign exchange market, exchange rate is not only the variable which effect trade balances in the open economy, but also become important variable that influence macroeconomic performance, the balance of payments, the price level of the and employment. What’s more, exchange rate system arrangement also relates to the effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies. Therefore, it can be said that the exchange rate has become a very important economic variable in today' globalization economy. The exchange rate regime has deep influences on viability of the alternative approaches which resolving a balance of payments crisis. Under the situation of speeding up economic globalization, it is very necessary to establish suitable floating exchange rate system in order to ironing international economic floating. We can draw a conclusion from this research that methods which be used to balance the payment crisis are all aim at establish a reasonable exchange rate system.
