In the first place, Chinese immigration is changing the structure of Canadian population, slowing down Canada’s aging speed and supplementing Canada’s labor shortages. For a country that only possesses a population of 32 million and a low birth rate, immigration is the driving force to stimulate the future economic growth of Canada. Canadian government researchers predicted that the whole labor increase for Canada in 2011 may completely rely on immigration. If there are no immigrants, the aging rate will keep growing which will surely increase the burden of the Government for health care. And that will greatly influence the overall economic growth in Canada. Therefore, immigration form China will provide more Chinese youth to create wealth and provide savings, which plays an important role in promoting the economic prosperity in Canada.

Secondly, the immigrants will not only supplement the Canadian population but also continuously improve the quality of Canada’s population and accelerate the optimal allocation of labor resources. The average age of immigrants is lower than that of Canadians, but their educational level is higher. The high-quality immigrants receive education in their home country but come to Canada after graduation. They receive no or little additional education and then they can get to work, which will not only save the educational costs but also help to improve labor productivity. High-quality immigrants are able to create more social wealth and can at the same time making the Canadian work force younger and more intelligent.

Thirdly, introduction of immigrants based on domestic demands can help to optimize the industrial structure, which corresponds with the national macroeconomic requirements. In the Canadian labor market, the technician capability of older expertise tends to be weak, which is unfavorable for promotion of new technology caused by industrial structure changes.
