摘要:至于目的有关,这项研究旨在探索学习策略,其中非英语专业学生大学英语四级考试的学生成绩之间的关系一般。英语教师往往面临着这样一个令人费解的问题:即使是同样的老师,教学内容和教学模式。

studymethod and the mode which are related to learning strategies. This study takes junior studentsin Northeast Normal University as subjects. Unquestionably, it is important to identifywhether there is any correlation between learning strategies and the scores in CET4. If yes,then comes the following specific purposes, firstly the study aims to find out what differencesexist between high-achievers and low-achievers in using learning strategies. Secondly, it aimsto check whether there are differences between different non-English majors on this aspect.Thirdly, it is to check whether there are differences between male and female non-Englishmajors. Through the exploration of this study, it may gain some useful information orindications for language learning and teaching.


1.3 Research Questions
Based on the purposes of the present study, the following research questions areaddressed.(1) What are the differences of foreign language learning strategies used byhigh-achievers and low-achievers?(2) What are the differences of foreign language learning strategies used by differentnon-English majors?(3) What are the differences of foreign language learning strategies between malestudents and female students of non-English majors?


Chapter Two Literature review


In this chapter, firstly the definition, characteristics, and classification of languagelearning strategy will be discussed. And then factors influence language learning strategiesand research methods used in this field will be talked about. At last, the related studies both inand aboard will be summarized.


2.1 Definition and Characteristics of Language Learning Strategies


2.1.1 The Definition of Language Learning Strategie
In the broad sense, the so-called learning strategy refers to that learners intentionallymake complicated learning plans to improve the outcome and efficiency of learning activities.In language acquisition, researchers define it in the following ways.Bialystok (1983) thought language learning strategy refers all the activities that learnersapply to improve the proficiency of target language. Oxford (1990) pointed that languagelearning strategy refers to specific activities learners used in language learning. The purposesof applying these activities are making language learning easier, faster, more interesting,more efficient, more convenient for individual learning, and finally more applicable in newenvironment. O’Malley and Chamot (1990) considered language learning strategies are ideasand activities learners applied to help themselves to understand, learn or memorizeinformation.Based on the above ideas, we could conclude that language learning strategies are thosespecific measures learners apply to fulfill learning targets in the process of language learningand using.
