Chapter Two  Color as a Reminder of Colonialism

The fact that color is favored by the post-colonial writers lies also deeply in the inherent  connection  between  color  and  colonialism.  The  post-colonial  novels  are esteemed much more colorful than the canonical English literary works since they are talking  mainly  about  people  with  different  skin  colors,  which  eventually  lead  to  vast cultural differences. From this point of view,   

A. Connection between Colors and Colonialism 
Colors  are  related  with  colonialism  in  the  sense  of  skin  colors  and  racism. Racism  is  the  ideology  that  human  beings  are  divided  into  different  categories according to their skin colors and related physical traits. The physical differences lead necessarily  to  the  differences  between  their  intellect,  morality  and  other  human behaviors. Therefore, the race which one belongs to decides his position on the ladder of  the  hierarchical  society.  The  idea  of  race  magnified  the  differences  between  the European people and people from other continents.
