eviews over a variety of related studies on articles and abstract nouns both at home and abroad are touched upon. Chapter Three centers on the
methodology of the study, in which research questions, materials, subjects, instruments, methods of the experiment, data collection and analysis are described in details. Chapter Four not only gives a report on the results but also elaborates on several tentative interpretations of them. The last chapter, serving as the conclusion of the whole study, summarizes the major findings, pedagogical implications as well as limitations of this study. Finally, some suggestions for future studies are also pointed out in this chapter.

Chapter Two LITERATURE REVIEW
This chapter centers on some selected literature relevant to indefinite article use and the countability of abstract nouns for the present study. In the beginning of this chapter, it introduces basic some terms like articles and abstract nouns as well as the theoretical foundation of Bounding Theory and Teachability Hypothesis, which provide a crucial underpinning for the present study. Besides, the working boundedness and its derived division of abstract nouns are also chewed over in this section. Then, related studies on the acquisition of indefinite article from various points of view both at home and abroad are reviewed and discussed in detail. Finally, there comes a summary of this chapter.

Since this study intends to investigate Chinese EFL learners‘ use of articles, it is of great significance to avoid disputes over various aspects about English articles, therefore. A brief but clear introduction of English articles is given top priority in the following parts.
