2. During the English teaching we should concentrate on developing the students’ integrating skills.
The main aim of the new textbook is to help students to improve their integrating skills. The formation of this kind of ability is based on students’ language skills, language knowledge, sentimental attitude, study strategy, and cultural consciousness. We can support these views by summarizing them like this:
(1) The main purpose of learning is to grasp the language skills.
Language skills include listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening and reading are the input of language called input skill, speaking and writing is the output of language called expressing skill. The ability of the use of language of a person can be improved in the process of receiving information
And expressing himself. During the English teaching , listening, speaking, reading, and writing not only are the purpose of learning, but also are the means of learning. So during our English teaching we must help the students to improve their integrating skills by guiding the students to practise listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
(2).The acquisition of the basic knowledge of English is greatly helpful to one’s English learning, which is the foundation of forming ability.
We are opposed to the view that teachers teach students English is to teach them English grammar, but that doesn’t mean we don’t learn grammar. Grasping language skill is necessary for Chinese people who want to learn English. The basic knowledge of language is an organic part of language ability and plays an important role in the development of language ability. The problem is that we can’t regard the learning of basic knowledge as the only purpose of learning English; we think that teachers teach students English is not to teach them grammar. At present, some people misunderstand that teachers improve and develop the ability of English is not the learning of the knowledge of language;they also think that knowledge is opposed to ability, obviously, and that view is wrong.
(3).To some degree, that the students utilize the language is related to their emotional attitude, cultural consciousness and study strategy.
English teaching concentrates mainly on psychological factor and the background of English culture, which not only is the important factor to affect the learning of English, but also is an important aspect of human development. Unless he is interested in the background of English culture, a person who can not keep persevering enthusiasm and motive power for learning English. At the same time, we also guide the students to choose the right strategy of study. Now, we point out that teachers regard the ability development of the students as the most important thing. A good teacher should prepare lessons according to the acceptive degree of the students and teach the students how to learn English, in fact, some approaches to the study of English can help the students to improve the efficiency of study in the process of learning English.
3. It is necessary for teachers to utilize information technology sufficiently during the English teaching.
