摘要:This empirical study is about to combine process writing and QQ (one of Web 2.0 technologies) toprove whether senior one students’ English written expression scores and English written expression skillscan be improved by teaching with QQ, and whether senior one students’ English written expressioninterests can be increased by teaching with QQ.

m, fully use ofmodern educational technology, develop English teaching resources and broaden the channels for student learning,improve student learning mode and learning efficiency. When conditions permit, teachers are required to use computersand multimedia educational software, to explore the new teaching model to promote individual student learning, to createthe conditions for independent study for students. So that in English learning process, students can improve the ability ofindependent thinking and judgments, develop the ability of communication and co-operation, in order to lay thefoundation for the true language of communication.


Chapter 2 Literature review


2.1 Key terms
2.1.1 NBLT or WBLT
The Net-based language teaching or the Web-based language teaching is “language teaching thatinvolves the use of computers connected to one another in either local or global net works”(Kern &Warschauer,2000). NBLT is a form of CALL. Representing a new and different aspect of CALL, net-basedlanguage teaching is mainly on human-to-human communication via computer. In other words, thishuman-to-human communication is computer-mediated communication. In the environment of the NBLTor the WBLT, both teachers and students can use the Internet, which provides a large quantity of materialsand information, to assist their activities. NBLT is a teaching that using the computers which are connectedto the LAN or a global network, and is a human-to-human communication. Language learners cancommunicate synchronously with any people all around the world through the Internet, they cancommunicate at any time either at school, home or in the work unit. Language learners can precedeone-to-one communication, or one-to-many, many-to-many communication.It is generally accepted that there are six characteristics of Web-based language teaching and learningenvironment as below: 1) The Web-based learning environment is open. 2) The Web-based learningenvironment is under our control. 3) The combination of the Web-based learning environment can beadjusted easily and not be limited by the physical environment and the equipment. 4) Under the Web-basedlearning environment, the linguistic culture is various. 5) The Web-based learning environment is steadyand safe. 6) In the WBET environment, teaching and learning are creative.
