If training and development is universally believed to have a positive impact on an organization’s performance, why are only a few firms training their employees?
However, even the few organizations offering training to their employees also confine much of their training activities to short courses such as Health and Safety and induction. Critically evaluate this view and suggest reasons why this might be the case.
It seems to be widely acknowledged that workforce training and development (T&D) can make a great contribution to the improvement of organizational performance outcomes. It is not only because many theoretical studies have demonstrated代写留学生英文论文 such significant positive relationship (Delaney and Huselid, 1996; Blazey, 2006), but also a few empirical case studies have indicated that T&D plays an important role in organizational performance improvement (Phillips, 1999). However, it is confused by the fact that T&D has not been universally adopted as might be expected. For instance, only a few companies in Britain train and develop their employees. Even then, most training programs are not of satisfactory level and quality. Activities are more likely to be confined to short-term courses such as Health and Safety and Induction rather than arranged to impart high-level knowledge and skills to employees...................
