SUB MODULE INTRODUCTION
The aim of this sub-module is to increase students’ awareness about various aspects of communication amongst members of the supply chain associated construction industry. This ranges from innerorganisationalnetworking to project-based collaboration and communication.
This sub-module is divided into three separate and yet inter-linked parts:
Part 1, introduces the technological backbone of all modern communication – the network. Here, many concepts associated with Local Area Networks are defined and explained. This will prepare students forth next part.
The first part of this sub-module is dedicated to introducing the basic concepts associated with networks and Local Area Networks (LANs) in particular. Nowadays, it is improper to talk about networks without dedicating at least half the content to issues pertaining to the internet, intranet and extranet. In this section, these details are deliberately dropped, because they are provided in earlier sub-modules and the web technology sub-module in particular. Here the focus is on the range of basic issues that were considered during the formative period of networks and those important issues that followed the successor the client-server computing.
The sub-module will provide a concrete base for developing the fundamental knowledge about LANs. The intention has been to offer a well–rounded view of many issues rather than focusing on individual examples. These include various types, systems, features, components, topologies, standards, technologies, servers, caballing, security issues, and a host of other issues that form the fabric of a LAN.
With this sub-module students will learn how LANs can help them work better by developing some understanding about how LANs work and what they can offer.
Part 2, shifts the attention from generics to the specifics of construction industry while articulating some of the main technological tools that are available for exploitation by the industry.
This section investigates the suitability of communications services for construction project environment. It is designed to provide assistance in selecting the most appropriate technology to support the business needs of the construction environment. The section aims to inform students or, ot论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
