摘要:本文是英语语言学论文,本文以构式语法的理念为基础,采用定性、定量的方法分析了乏词构式语句,介绍了构式与乏词义动词的互动,并总结出乏词构式的意义。

t semantics such as do, give, get, have, take, put, pay, draw etc. According toMaCarthy[2], these verbs are termed in this way because of their low lexical contentand the fact that statements of their meaning are normally derived from the wordsthey co-occur with. In accordance with Valerie Arndt, Paul Harvey and John Nuttall[17]common verbs which are often used in transitive structure are called delexical verbsand the structure which consists of a delexical verb followed by a noun group iscalled a delexical structure. Delexical structures are relatively common in currentEnglish. Although the total number of delexical verbs is small, they include some ofthe very commonest words in the language. Delexical structures contribute to theimpression of fluency in English given by a foreign user[18]. Ellena[18]holds that adelexical verb usually loses most or all of its specific semantic content, while itscollocational partner appears to keep most of its characteristic meaning. For example,in “take a photo, make a decision”, it is “photo” and “decision” that retain theirnormal meanings while “take” and “make” lose their own. From the viewpoint of Graham Lock[19], some verbs are called delexical verbs because their lexical meaninghas been removed and delexical structures are very common, particularly in formallanguage. Delexical structures can be a problem for learners because there is no rulegoverning which delexical verbs go with which nouns just as Allerton[7]says, thechoice of these verbs is mostly arbitrary and semantically unmotivated. They areidiomatic and must be learned simply as fixed expressions.

2. 2 Previous Studies on Delexical Verbs
In order to deal with the presentation of double objects constructions which are able to have three-place predicate on the binary branching principle, Chomsky[21]proposed the vP shell theory on the basis of Larson-shell’s theory. According to thecore assumption of vP shell theory, the complex structure of vP is made up of twolayers: vP and VP. VP involves an inner structure, while vP an outer vp-shell. Somearguments (e.g. agent) in sentences originate in the outer one, while other arguments(e.g. theme) come from the inner VP. In this case, vP takes VP as its complement. This functional category, represented by the lower-case “v” is called the light verb[21].From the perspective of the TG approach, the light verb (delexical verb is calledlight verb in TG approach) is regarded as an indicator which has an affixal feature andcan be used to induce the movement of V. Since the light verb has no phonetic form,it is not clear whether it is a prefix or suffix. The structure of VP was expanded to thefollowing:
