1.1 The background of electric vehicles

The electric vehicle ( EV ) uses electric power as drive propulsion, which is considered a clean energy generated from nuclear power or wind power without the emission of Carbon dioxide(Chen & Wu,2008.01,p.40). The current prevailing petroleum-based cars caused serious impact on the environment. And Scientists predict that the traditional fossil will be exhausted in one hundred years. With the rise in oil prices and the aggravation of greenhouse effect, the exploitation and manufacture of electric vehicles is preceded in the whole world.
Begin with the first Electric motive power in 1835, electronic car, as one of the first mobiles, was invented in 1840s by persons from England and American and was popular in 1900s in American(Chen & Wu,2008.01,p.40). Then it was substitute by the fossil-used car in the late 20th century. In recent years, with the development of technology, many automotive companies spend heavily in study the emerging electric motive areas. F.X. the Japanese Group Honda launched its high-energy ‘nickel-metal hydride battery car’ EV ‘PLUS’ in 1996(Cai & Hou,2012,p89), which obtained a very good market response in America and caused the emulation by GM and Ford. After that, the Japanese Group Toyota manufactured ‘hybrid gasoline-electric’ vehicle ‘Prius’ for large-scale production in 2001(OTM,2010,p.17), which achieved ‘2.5 million’ sales in 2010 and received ‘the best’ evaluation by 2010 (Beissmann,2010,p.1).
