mmercial Development
Housing is also a key contributor to both local and national development. Housing geography and population flow are central to planning, urban design and transport systems, and the development of community services - from libraries and schools to shopping centres, leisure facilities and hospitals. As such it also contributes to patterns of commercial and industrial development. Issues of medium-density housing, urban fringe development, building codes, land use and resource consents are widely and hotly debated at local and national levels.
4.1 DIRECT AND INDIRECT ECONOMIC IMPACT OF HOUSING IN NEW ZEALAND
Housing has a great economic impact on housing in New Zealand, it's impact is at almost all level, some of the economic effects of the housing in New Zealand goes with the impact of more than one factor, in order to make this discussion more understanding, some of the factors are briefed below;
Homelessness
Homelessness is the condition in which people live without regular base i.e no specific place to stay, people who are homeless are those people who are most often unable to acquire and maintain permanent, safe, secure, house or those people who lack fixed regular night time. This housing sector helps this homeless people to be able to settle down and live a comfortable life, this is more of like an indirect impact on housing.
Social & Environmental Benefits
The behaviour of the people and the nature of the surrounding will make a great impact on housing in the society, housing or to build a house in this kind of a situation help to improve the housing market and the high living standard of the people in the country, because to have a house in a place where there is social and environmental benefit, it create another source of income to the resident living there.
Health
Housing has another impact in terms of health sector, safe and secure housing projects help the people with shelter this implies with the homeless people who do not have permanent place to live.
5.1 Suggestion To Improve Housing System In New Zealand
I ensure they produce high quality designs and materials for building.
The government to try as much as possible to reduce the rate of unemployment to the maximum level.
The bank should decrease the rate of interest they put when someone lend money to buy or rent a house.
The government should increase professional workers and skilled labourers to enable the quality of good homes for the people.
The banks should make the money not too hard or easy when someone want to lend it to afford a house.
6.1 CONCLUSION
New Zealand is the 4th in the world & global economy rankings, that is part of the reasons why I choose New Zealand because it is a country with high economy and are developed. Housing is a great factor which plays an important role in not only in New Zealand but in every part of the world, even though it is not the housing , sector that push up its economy, housing itself is an aspect which deals with the living standard of people in New Zealand and worth something to be discussed about.
