3. Need clear statement of research question/ objective(s) of study.  Optional - outline methodology used – one sentence – or plan of dissertation

Chapter 2 Literature Review and Chapter 3 or 4 Methodology – depends if ‘case study’ warrants a chapter (Often it does, Chapter 3)

I advise two main sections.  1.  Theoretical Component covers - Business and Management research methodology

Research philosophy – deductive, positivism, realism; inductive, interpretivism/ social constructionism
Secondary v primary data.  Secondary data – types, advantages/disadvantages. 

Primary data – observation, interviews, questionnaires – cover in some detail e.g.
interview – semi-structured or in depth questionnaire – open or closed questions

Qualitative v quantitative data – again cover in some depth.  Refer to 1 – 2 Research Methods text books e.g. Saunders et al. 3rd Edition 2003.  FT Prentice Hall.

2.  Methodology used in study

Restate objectives, state research philosophy used in study/ + why used. Link methodology used to objectives

Secondary data State sources, link to objectives, company website could be highlighted

Primary data Methods used e.g. interview, questionnaire; type of question; who/why that person/these people?

List questions either here or in Appendix and relate to them.  Justify questions, link to objectives (+ possibly literature reviewed).

Discuss how minimised shortcomings and discuss ethical issues
