4. Research Design


4.1 Research Questions
The instruments employed in this research are tests. Tests consist of two parts: pre-testand post-test. At the beginning of the research, the pre-test is used to show motivation andinterest situation of the 48 students. And the post-test is used to compare with the pre-test toverify the effect of the affective teaching methods. Both the tests papers consist of readingcomprehension parts form the past exam paper of PRETCO, which make sure that the twotests papers are all at the similar level. The experiment was carried out from September, 2012 to December 2012, lasted 4months with the 48 Grade Six students in a primary school of Quanshui District in Dalian, Liaoning Province. The 24 students of class one are treated as Experimental Class (EC) and24 students from class two are chosen as Control Class (CC). The author employed affectivetheory in English teaching in experimental class, which lasted for about 12 weeks. Meanwhile,control class received traditional English teaching method. There are two tests in thisexperiment: pre-test and post-test. Both the two tests paper consists of reading comprehensionparts form the past exam paper of PRETCO, which make sure that the two tests papers are allat the similar level.

Conclusion


The role of affect is getting more and more attention in English teaching. Nationalcurriculum standards had made the target of emotion in primary school teaching. The teachersshould let the students are interested in listening, like speaking, reciting songs, singing songsand playing games and so on. It is necessary to make the students willing to imitate, daring tospeaking, being active in participation all the activities. In order to get better understand in theattitude of emotion about students ' English learning, this paper will talk about two importantemotion factors and make a research which had made an emotional teaching experiment thatlasted for 4 months on motivation and interest in Dalian Quanshui Primary School.The Experimental measures include about 4 parts: 1.The teacher taught the studentswith the methods of multimedia and game teaching to arouse students' interest. 2. Westimulate the students to arise interest by means of cooperative learning. 3. We will usemultiple ways of evaluation in order to build up self-confidence of primary students andfeedback marks in time. 4. Using emotion to bring up emotion, establish a harmoniousrelationship between teacher and students to make a harmonious environment in class.
