摘要:The affective factors are including motivation, interest, esteem, empathy and so on. Inmy opinion motivation and interest are the internal factor which impacts the learners' learningbehavior.
1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
In the 21st century, English has already come to our life as the most popular language, soit has been one of the basic requirements for the 21st century citizens to master. Thehumanism education concept "People oriented" of New Curriculum Standards haveconsidered all the aspects of English teaching in primary school. Since the autumn semesterof 2001,in the hope of making students study English at their earliest time, English lesson wasset up for students in grade three and above of township primary school, while which was forstudents in grade one and above in bigger cities.So far, we have carried out English subject for nearly ten years in our country. However,lots of students don’t like English at all for lacking of interesting about the subject andsituation is even worse in primary school. Most of people have a wrong understanding toforeign language teachers; they think a teacher’s aim is only to impart the knowledge. But infact, it is a different thing. I think the key purpose of teaching is either passing on theknowledge or cultivating the learning skills. And overemphasis on the mark, but lack of thecomplete learning process and the gaiety experience which make the learners are not active tolearn. The greatest scientist Einstein said "Interest is the good teacher", which shows theimportance of cultivating the interest than the tedious process of passing on knowledge.As we known the active motivation is the key for English learning. So this thesis's aim isto vary the teachers’ concept of English teaching and make them realize motivation asimportant as interesting. The point I want to say is as a leading role, the teachers should guidestudents to overcome the negative thought and take the active action to cultivate motivationand inspire the student’s interest to study English.

1.2 The Purposes and Significance of the Study

Inmy opinion motivation and interest are the internal factor which impacts the learners' learningbehavior.One of this thesis's purposes is to explore the situation of motivation and interest of theprimary students. Through research the relationship both pupils’ motivation and interests,helping teachers and students find a appropriate way to improve learning efficiency, teachingquality and also to promote the whole development of the students. The second purpose is to offer some suggestions to teachers about how to stimulate students’ affection in Englishlearning via some practical ways. Affective teaching method as the trend of further education, the modern science hasimproved that: affect play an important role in teaching. Affect factors ignored in thetraditional teaching process. Since the sixties of 20 century, affect has been attention by theeducation around the world. To establishing the new mood in affective teaching method,promoting the affect development harmoniously, that is the trend of further education. It hasthe significant meanings. However, in recent years; little research has been done on theaffective teaching method of the primary school pupils in English learning. This thesis studiesthe affective teaching method on interest and motivation of pupils in English learning.
