Executive Summary
This report is to identify my own current level on the competencies of Emotional Intelligence and consequently found the specific changes to my behaviour that will lead to the improvements in my managerial performance in the area of Emotional Intelligence.
This report firstly critically reviewed two models of Emotional Intelligence, one is Slaovey and Mayer’s cognitive model and the other is Goleman’s non cognitive model.
In the second section, this report in depth analysed my own competencies of Emotional Intelligence with the diagnostic tools developed by Professor Andy Hede. To ensure the comprehensive and accuracy of this appraisal, the diagnostic tool was fill by own and four of my peers. After analysing, Self management was identified as one of the domains that I need further development.
Finally, based on the current level of emotional intelligence, this report identified two methods that can potentially change my behaviour in the workplace and hence result in the improvements in my managerial performance. The two methods are:
1. Hede’s READE Method 2. Daudeline’s Reflection Method
With the assistance of the above two methods, this report believe that my own emotional intelligence level will be further enhanced.
