Research Methodology:

To fetch more practical information it is very important to adopt a method it gives an insight to assure the situation prevailing it adds more to the existing information available in the hands of the researcher. There are mainly two types of collecting the material from the market known as primary and secondary source.

Primary sources:

Interviews :

Face to face interview is considered to be the most reliable method as it gives the researcher an option to manipulate the set of questions as the interview progresses to collect the information required to support the research. Especially if the researcher interviews high officials, with their reference he can make the information more genuine and reliable. Interview is always preferable because it gives the researcher proper and clear insight into subject. But still I has got some drawbacks which tend to decrease the reliability.

1. Chances of manipulating information as per the interest of the researcher, hence results in suspicious facts and data.

2. To protect company’s health and goodwill in the market, the interviewee tries to avoid showing the dark side of the company.

3. The nature of the topic demands for authentic interview and that is only possible when people at the top levels are interviewed.

Questionnaire :

Questionnaire is just like a sample interview of small group of people sharing similar nature. Information can be collected sending the questionnaires to number of respondents who can contribute with relevant information. Open ended questions would be of great help for the topic as it gives the freedom to the researcher to express and share his/her thinking. Questionnaires also turn suspicious on certain conditions:

1. When the question conveys wrong meaning to the respondent, will deviate the desired result.

2. It is time consuming, because time involved in sending and receiving the questionnaires takes more than expected time.

3. Questionnaires often fail to generate interest among the respondents to respond, as it takes some time to fill the objectives and open questions.

Secondary sources:

Book review:

The external research will be carried out through the reading and considering published material. Books and articles online would be the prime source of collecting review based on the IT’s fight back in India after the global meltdown.

Internet research:

Internet research is another source of secondary data, helpful in gathering historical and present information about up downs of IT in India. Internet research will also give the researcher an open access about the general information regarding the situation, and what normal people think about the effectiveness and survival of Indian IT based companies in long run.
