Conclusion
The primary school English teachers should transfer the view of teacherprofessional development, attempt more professional developmental strategies,andthen shape their own teaching belief and teaching style; endeavor to improvethemselves to be the “research teacher" instead of "experienced teacher”,and strive tobecome an initiative lifelong learning teacher.Above all, the professional development of primary school English teachersshould be accomplished together with the development of the students,and theeventual purpose of PETPD is to improve the teaching efficiency, so do the researchof teaching and the improvement of their professional quality. Furthermore, thePETPD gives us some implication for the English teaching in primary schools. TPDhelps teachers improve their philosophy of teaching, and develop their capacity ofdiscovering and resolving the teaching problem promptly, which contribute to theimprovement of the teaching efficiency.
The present research should be taken as the tentative study on the professionaldevelopment of primary school English teachers with some inevitable limitations,and further study is needed.On the one hand, although the qualitative research methodology dominate thestudy, the subjects of questionnaire seemed limited, only 30 subjects from the centrepart and suburb of Nanchang participated in the investigation, the current situation ofthe primary school English teacher in the towns and villages can't reflect accuratelyby this study.
