Franchise Profile
1. Introduction:
The United States began the franchise business by the Singer sewing machine company since 1865, and it has a hundred years of history. John . [Brent L. Baker, Rajiv P. Dant, 2008] Lasibite, the author of "Megatrends", considers that franchise is the most successful marketing concept by far. The franchise is a continuing relationship. Through this relationship, the franchisor provides a commercial operating privilege which is licensed to the franchisee. At the same time, the franchisor also supplies assistance to the franchisee in the organization, training, merchandise planning and management. Through this style, both sides can get more benefits.[ Timothy Bates, 1995] In fact, franchising is a form of business organization which has the economies scale, and the larger the scale is, the more significant the effectiveness is. In America, there are a large number of franchise business corporate, and the scale of each franchise has reached a considerable level. Which ensures the overall scale of the franchise business fully. Through the frachise, McDonald has developed into an international multinational corporations having more than 14000 subsidiaries in more than 50 countries form an automotive restaurant since 1937.

As a successful operation mode, the franchise has many advantages. In the case of indirect investment, the parent company can achieve the copy-style development quickly, achieve low-risk and low-cost expansion. At the same time, the franchise stores can keep their own independent business while sharing the parent company’s brands, services, information and other advantages, and it reduces their business risk. However, as a business model, tha franchise also has its disadvantages. On one hand, it has a necessary threshold, like the high initial fee, which keep many operators out of the benefits, and this leads to social instability highly likely.[Andrew Terry, Cary Di Lernia, 2011, John F. Preble, Richard C. Hoffman, 1999] On the other hand, the threshold can bring huge profits and even result in a monopoly, which may causes losses to the interests of consumers[Raul V. Fabella, 1993].
