摘要:代写高中英语寒假作业-Supplementary materials did a good job!-By Liu Zhaohui Pudong Mofan Middle School-Proper use of supplementary materials in English teaching can be very helpful. The following is an example of what I ever did.

ial “Hong Kong” comes from the students’ workbooks. It helps recycle and revise some vocabulary and language the students learn in the text. And the jigsaw reading activity in groups will enable the students to share information and help establish good rapport in the classroom.
III. Effectiveness of the supplementary materials:
It was quite OK to teach new vocabulary items with the help of pictures. The students were interested in the matching activity as well. I presented the picture of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and elicited the sentence “Shanghai is famous for the Oriental Pearl TV Tower”. I presented the picture of foggy London and elicited the sentence “London is known as the capital of fog”. Then the students worked in pairs and practiced them in the matching activity. For example: --What is Beijing famous for? --Beijing is famous for the Great Wall; --What is Singapore known as? –Singapore is known as the city of lion.
I also presented some pictures to introduce the new vocabulary before moving on work on the reading, such as “shopping paradise, the Maglev, resort, observatory”. I asked some CCQs help the students understand and have more impression of the new vocabulary: “Is shopping paradise a place where people enjoy shopping? …How fast can the Maglev run? …Who works in an observatory?...”The students surely got more information about the Maglev and the observatory.
The students seemed very interested in watching videos, so it was not difficult to elicit their ideas about the videos they watched. The only problem was that some stuents couldn’t help talking when they saw a familiar scene. So I had to play twice for two of the videos.
Thanks to the vivid pictures and videos, reading such a long text didn’t bore the students at all. They got a very clear idea of introducing Shanghai, which showed exactly in their later writing.
