Pacific & Orient Berhad

In 1994, Pacific & Orient incorporated as a private limited company. It then acquired one of the largest Malaysian general insurers, namely Pacific & Orient Insurance (P&O Insurance), then it was listed on the Main Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1995. Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad

29th of November 1984 was the initial mark of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad (Takaful Malaysia) incorporated in Malaysia. It was firstly transformed into a public limited company on the 30th of July 1996, then was listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. The capital has increased to RM55 million. At the end of 2003, the restructuring execution has been further improved and together with the enhancement of the capital structure, resulted in Takaful Malaysia’s paid-up share capital at present stands at RM162.817 million. The main major shareholder in Takaful Malaysia is BIMB Holdings Berhad with 61.81% stake. Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) is a 51.00% owned subsidiary of BIMB Holdings Berhad and also is the first Islamic bank in Malaysia. BIMB Holdings Group has business in unit trusts , venture capital, stock broking and off-shore banking apart from takaful and banking. Generally, BIMB Holdings Group is well-known with its active catalyst in developing takaful, Islamic banking and Islamic capital market. After Lembaga Tabung Haji increased its shareholdings in BIMB Holdings Berhad to 51.47% on 1st of July 2009, BIMB Holdings Berhad became a subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji.
