During recent decades so many researchers and institutes has investigated the effect of energy consumption on GDP growth of various countries using variety of methods. in another side to have a better observation of effective factors which affect GDP growth we are going to investigate the effect of Gross Fixed Capital Formation(GFCF) of ASEAN countries. and finally we will consider the effect of these factors in compare with each other on GDP growth of five ASEAN countries which are Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines. We will answer to the question that how will energy consumption effect GDP growth ?and how will GFCF affect GDP growth ?and how will be the effect of these factors in compare with each other in five ASEAN selected countries?

Research Objectives(Method should be included)

The main objective of this research is to investigate the effect of two macroeconomic factors on GDP growth of ASEAN countries. The macroeconomic factors that are going to be investigated are Energy Consumption and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) and the five selected countries which are aimed to be investigated are Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines.

Significance of the Study:

The research that studies the relationship between GDP growth of ASEAN countries and their Energy consumption has been done before ,also the relationship between GDP growth and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) of European countries and American countries and also ASEAN has been done before but none of these studies have compared the effect of energy consumption and GFCF together on GDP growth. Again there have been no study that investigate this correlation for ASEAN countries. so in this study we investigate the effect of GFCF and energy consumption on GDP growth and the inter-correlation of energy consumption and GFCF for five countries of ASEAN which are Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand.

Why Study the ASEAN Countries Economies?

On 8 August 1967 Foreign Ministers of five leaders countries of south east Asia which are Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand had meeting in the main hall of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok, Thailand and signed a contract. By virtue of this contract, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) created. (Thanat Khoman, 1992). on 7th of August 2008 in Bangkok,Thailand the 26th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) was held. In this meeting, the heads of the ASEAN countries insisted on having practical policy and strategies to enhance energy management, and they insisted on considering practical policies and strategies to improve energy management, efficient use of energy, more effective cooperation in development of energy projects, enhancing usage of alternative and renewable energy and clean energy promotion, including research and development of energy technologies. considering the high potential of 6 ASEAN in development of new and renewable energy – in terms of feed stock and expertise, need to enhance the cooperation in this area, as this is known as a crucial mean to r
