With the concerted efforts of the Chinese people, the strategic goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way will be achieved. By learning swimming through practice, China will master the art of riding the tide of globalization and in the process we will surely achieve the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Future Research

The Chinese market demonstrates remarkable heterogeneity among business entities, due to differences in size, ownership, styles of management, location, type of market served, and so on. An important subgroup includes Chinese entrepreneurs who are owners or operators of small and medium-sized companies that are growing rapidly. Future research might follow several directions. For example, similarities and differences need to be explored between Chinese entrepreneurs and the salaried managers of Chinese MNCs and SOEs. This work may further reveal the workings of guanxi to the advantage of managers in smaller companies. Second, a comparison of Chinese entrepreneurs to their counterparts in overseas ethnic Chinese SMEs would be valuable.
