ational Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and other international organizations and institutions to guarantee the consistency and cohesion of the global economic decision-making. Moreover, when there exist disputes and conflicts between member states, the WTO is responsible for resolving them. Finally, it holds negotiating forum for its members to address the affairs of agreements and protocols and provides necessary technical assistance to developing countries to help their development. What's more, there are many articles and protocols carried out to guarantee a normal trade system operating. Countries entry into the WTO can employ these fundamental rights to provide protection for their own international trade. The author summarizes six principles of the WTO, they are reciprocity, transparency, market access, fair competition and non-discrimination principles. Here, the transparency principle in this paper means that all the WTO members should release their formulation and implementation of trade measures as well as their corresponding changes whenever. The purpose of this principle, in my opinion, is to provide symmetry information when a pair country does the bilateral trade. This, to some extent, can reduce trade fractions since both of them can handle the new policies and changes implemented in their partner country and then make an appropriate adjustment for them. As for the market access principle, it requires all the WTO members open their markets to achieve maximum trade liberalization, which mainly contains reduction of tariff protection and removal of quantitative restrictions. In fact, these six principles influence each other and promote the international trade.
China entered into the WTO in 2001, but before its accession, it experienced a five-year observation period. Based on what have been discussed before, we can expect that accession into the WTO will be conducive to the development of a country's external trade, especially for developing countries. Since China is the largest developing countries, its accession to the WTO is bound to make a great impact on the international trade. China has accounted for 1/5 of the world's population which is a great market for the whole world. By 2011, the total economic output and export value were ranked the second place only after America. Besides, the country's foreign exchange reserves in December 2010 were 2.847338 trillion dollars, which has increased 448.1 billion than the previous year. Since China's accession into the WTO, it is ranked first in attracting foreign investment for the past ten years among developing countries, with 90 percent share of its total foreign trade originating from the WTO members. Along with China's development, ongoing proliferation of multinational companies settles down in China during the past ten years. These companies introduce new management notion to Chinese society and take advantage of cheap labor in China, so that they make their products or services more competitive than those produced domestically. All these prove that the WTO brings opportunities for China to develop its economy and open market. However, the results of Rose (2004) were that the WTO/GATT has little relation with bilateral trade, thus could China's accession to the WTO help improve trade? If yes, what factors will affect China's international trade with other countries? Generally speaking, to study the multilateral trade, the gravity equation is a class
