摘要:这篇dissertation主要分为五大章节,着重研究了影响外籍人员选用的因素、选用方法以及选用过程中遇到的跨文化问题。

on process keeping in view the above points when we look back in literature this point was made by Ones and Viswesvaran,(2000) by saying that by the passage of time organizations are using expatriates more and more and this increases the importance of selection process. Sohail emphasized on the importance of expatriate for the organization. He suggested that expatriates are the best source for an organization to become internationalize and for this important position or post the selection process will also have great importance for an organization.


As discussed above in the chapter of literature reviews that for many organizations sending expatriate abroad has become the part of their human resource strategy. In addition to this the process of selection helps an organization in long run because the selection process helps organization to select the right person for the required job and if the right person is selected for the required job then that person will be beneficial for the organization, this point was elaborated in the above chapter of literature review that the selection process helps the organization to achieve its long term and short term goals and objectives.


Ammad mentioned that expatriates should be well experienced because this is the most important job for any organization, because expatriates are the one who can truly represent their organization in any other country. He added that at present organizations prefer those people who have international experience. As discussed above in literature review that expatriates has now become an important HR strategy for the organizations. 


4.4 Research Question 4:


Does spouse or family of an individual affect the selection process of an expatriate?


Mr. Ammad and Mr. Yahya had same point of view about the individual life of expatriate that individual life of an expatriate always affects his contribution towards organization. Being the part of society the social life of an individual has to be considered by the organization. It is also the corporate social responsibility of an organization to consider these factor and if in case an organization ignores this important factor the end result might be dangerous for organization. An example of organization given by one of the mangers was that in most of the organizations there is arrangement for infants accompanied with the employees as they cannot leave their children in home.


These are the social needs of any individual which affects hi/her performance. In case of expatriate selection it is very important for the selectors or HR managers to consider the factor of spouse and family because if the spouse or family of expatriate is not happy and do not want to move in another country then the employee or expatriate alone cannot take the decision. So obviously while selecting an expatriate spouse and family members are considered and sometimes it is difficult for an expatriate to adjust in different country due to his/her family or spouse.
