摘要:本文是一篇英语教学法论文,本文旨在揭示《英语人教版》(必修)中学习策略的总体构成以及10年级学生的学习策略实施现状。

本文是一篇英语教学法论文,笔者认为英语政治公众人物(必修)学习策略的设计完全符合NECS的要求。但这四种学习策略在比例分布上是不平衡的,主要是认知策略和情感策略,而元认知策略和交际策略的作用较小。

CHAPTER ONE Introduction

1.1 Research Background

Textbooks put curriculum philosophies into practice, and reflect the requirements and thecontent of the syllabus (Zhuo, 2021). They are the most important resources for teaching. Asthe curriculum reform progresses, teaching materials, under new philosophies, have beentaking on a new mission – from the materials used solely as a guidance in teaching tomaterials for students to learn. In this sense, textbooks, as part of academic materials, areundergoing a transition from “teaching materials” to “learning materials”. With Educationalreforms for senior high schools in China progressing, multiple versions of textbooks wereadapted and introduced based on the National English Curriculum Standards, 2017 Edition(hereinafter referred to as the NECS). The English textbooks published by People’s EducationPress (PEP) is widely used in Guangdong Province for senior high school students. Acorrespondent renewal of the publisher’s English for Chinese General Senior High SchoolStudents (hereinafter referred to as English PEP) was made under the reforms. According tothe Guiding Opinions on Implementing New Curriculum and New Textbooks for GeneralSenior High Schools, from the 2019 autumn semester, all provinces (districts, municipalities)across China would phase in new curriculum and textbooks. Guangdong Province began toimplement new curriculum and introduce the adapted textbooks for the first-year senior highschool students enrolled in the 2020 autumn term. As of the 2021 autumn semester, the firstbatch of students in Guangdong Province who have been using the renewed English textbookshave completed the study of the compulsory books including Book 1, Book 2, and Book 3.

Subject core competency is a term referred by Ministry of Education of China in 2014.The NECS has clearly pointed out the core competencies achieved through the English subjectinclude language ability, cultural awareness, thinking capacity, and learning ability. Learningability refers to students’ awareness and ability to use and adjust English learning strategiesactively, and expand English learning channels so as to improve the effectiveness of Englishlearning. 

1.2 Research Significance

1.2.1 Theoretical Significance

Textbooks, as part of academic materials, are undergoing a transition from “teachingmaterials” to “learning materials”. Students’ cognition develops in an understandable pattern.Knowledge, as a result, should be introduced accordingly. Therefore, the design of contentknowledge in a textbook follows and integrates the pattern and the logic, to reflect differentlearning strategies, so that it can play an introductory role for the learners. The correct use oflearning strategies by students is conducive to effective learning. It also helps with thecultivation and improvement of their learning ability, thus laying a foundation forcomprehensive development. For learning the knowledge of English as a subject, oneimportant element that guarantees success is to master the learning strategies matching theknowledge itself. Researches on the learning strategies in English textbooks can providereferences for future scholars to study the learning strategies in textbooks of other subjects.
