Before the experiment,the pre-questionnaire is designed to test whether there isany significant difference between EC and CC.The following table describes 9dimensions of the questionnaire.The data analysis and discussion in this section willtherefore focus on these 9 dimensions.

5 Conclusion

5.1 Major Findings

The aim of this study is to find out the effects of a model of reading teachingbased on Relevance Theory on students’reading strategies and scores.This study hasbasically achieved the intended research objectives.Through quantitative andqualitative analyses,the reading teaching model based on Relevance Theory wasfound to be significantly helpful in improving students’reading scores and promotingtheir application of reading strategies,and the main findings of the study aresummarized below.

Firstly,from the analysis of the questionnaire and the results of the test beforethe teaching experiment,the current situation of students’application of Englishreading strategies is not optimistic,which is reflected in the following aspects:First,itcan be seen through the analysis of the questionnaire:through the research,the currentsituation of the application of reading strategies among senior two students inNo.Middle school are as follows:(1)Students were always able to use the basicreading strategies of scanning,skimming and note-taking during reading,but they didnot often use them for higher-order reading strategies such as predicting,contextualizing and inferring strategies.(2)The ninth reading strategy-inferring theauthor’s intentions and the main idea of the text’was less frequently used by students.It can be seen that in reading most students are only used to using orientation to makequestions,finding key words and phrases then taking notes,but if the text involvesdeeper meanings that the author wants to express,students may have difficulties inreading.(3)The previous English reading teaching placed more emphasis onvocabulary and sentence processing,resulting in students not being able tocomprehend the text comprehensively as a whole.More importantly,the previousreading lessons focused too much on students’vocabulary and grammar,resulting instudents’application of higher-论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
