摘要:In the process of rewriting texts, the author attempts to explore thenoticing function and hypothesis-test function of Output Theory employed in therewriting training.

(Dladus, LAU, 2002). The authorlists some major definitions of rewriting.A definition from the Oxford Advanced learners' English-ChineseDictionary is: rewriting is to write sth. again in a different way, usually in orderto improve it or because there is some new information. And retelling is like atwin of rewriting, because both of them state the original story again usuallywith some differences. The definition of retelling is: to tell a story again, often ina different way (2004). Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary explains: rewriting is torewrite something such as a book or speech again, in order to improve it orchange it because new information is available (Cullen, 2008).Eurasia’s Modern Practical English-English Dictionary defines that therewrite is a way to say or write the meaning of a passage in other words, give afree translation of the original sentences.Collins Dictionary explains: rewrite is to write (written material) again,especially changing the words or forms (Collins, 2006).

2.2 Review on Different Writing Approaches
Raimes put forward that writing has two functions: writing for learninglanguage; writing for learning writing (1983). It is obvious that writing plays animportant role in second or foreign language learning. The writing approach has been studied in foreign counties since the 1950s and there were many researchoutcomes. In China, the research about writing theory and teaching teachingstudy develops rapidly (Wang Wenyu & Wang Lifei, 2003). The authorsummarizes some main and influential writing approaches in China and pointsout the advantages and disadvantages of each method. The product writing approach has played the domain part before the 1960s.At that time, product writing approach was the most popular method in secondlanguage teaching and learning. It is a teacher-centered writing way, andteachers correct and judge students’ products after students hand in theircompositions. The basic theory of this approach is behaviorism theory.

4.1 Results and Analysis in the Quantitative Study
The quantitative study consists of one pre-test and one post-test. CG, EG 1,and EG 2 took part in the pre-test and post-test. The researcher utilized the SPSS 16.0 to analyze 137 valid scorescollected from the pre-test score. In this study, the writer mainly utilizedOne-Way ANOVA to analyze and compare the data.
